General terms and Conditions of Hire
As the HIRER it is your responsibility to make sure that all reasonable steps are taken to avoid injury to participants or damage to your hired product or inflatable. Here are a few helpful rules for safe use of a bouncy castle or other inflatable. Please make sure that they are understood by the supervising adult and followed by all users:
• Do not allow any food or drink (including chewing gum) on or near bouncy castles or other inflatables. These can pose a slipping or choking hazard and can cause damage to the equipment.
• Do not allow children to play on inflatables if they have had their faces painted. Party poppers, streamers, silly string and ink-based products can all cause damage to the inflatable.
• Please ensure that all users remove all footwear and glasses, as well as any jewellery, badges etc. before using the inflatable to avoid dirt and damage. No toys or other sharp objects are allowed on the inflatable and pets should be kept well clear.
• If your rental shows damage or is dirty upon collection, we reserve the right to charge for cleaning and/or repairs.
• Do not allow smoking or the use of barbecue equipment near your bouncy castle.
• A responsible person must be appointed to supervise the inflatable at all times. It is their responsibility to stop users from engaging in dangerous behaviour, such as climbing, hanging or sitting on walls.
• Do not allow bouncing on the front step as this is for access only and children may fall off.
• Please keep children under control and discourage pushing, jostling, fighting or any other behaviour that might cause injury to the children concerned or those around them.
• Somersaults on the inflatables are strictly forbidden as these can result in serious injuries.
• Users of the inflatable, and the responsible person, must not be intoxicated by alcohol or other substances.
• Please take care to observe the maximum number of users as recommended by your delivery team. Do not allow overcrowding and avoid allowing bigger children to bounce with smaller ones.
• Don’t allow anyone to bounce if they have any kind of back or neck problems or if they are feeling unwell or nauseous.
• Please switch off the blower at the mains if it is not being used for a long period, such as during a meal. Keep children clear of the inflatable during deflation and inflation.
• Your set-up team will position the inflatable safely. Avoid moving it once positioned. If you do have to move it, make sure there is a clear 6 feet (2 metres) around the unit and that the blower is at least 3ft (one metre) away.
• Inflatables must not be used if the jumping area becomes wet. Most units have a shower cover, but if not, avoid use until the rain has stopped and the unit has been carefully dried. 18. If the rain becomes heavy, please switch the unit off. Make sure it is dried carefully once reinflated.
• In the unlikely event that the blower fails, remove all users immediately. Press the blower reset button to restart the unit and do not allow users to return until it has fully reinflated. If the reset button does not work, check the fuse on the plug and any trip switches at your fuse box. Check the blower tube has not disconnected or become blocked. If the unit has become overheated, leave it for five minutes and try it again. If you cannot restart your blower, inform us immediately so we can remedy the situation as soon as possible.
